[Hong Kong, 10 November 2022] MTR Lab Company Limited (“MTR Lab”), a wholly owned subsidiary of MTR Corporation Limited (“MTR Corporation”), today announced the launch of Co+Lab Initiative. Co+Lab Initiative is a strategic platform of MTR Lab that works together with like-minded partners to construct carbon-neutral smart communities. The initiative forms an open platform that enables members of the innovation community to partner with MTR Lab to explore building a more sustainable, technology-driven future together.

Investment platform seeks like-minded partners to foster smart technology innovations
Focusing on selected key verticals, Co+lab Initiative is investing in early-stage companies that operate and innovate across sectors of interest to MTR Lab which includes mobility (Mobility as a Service, new mobility modes, rail tech), retail, property, financial and data services, smart city technology and sustainability. Financial and strategic investments are also available for companies that have gained traction in key focus markets, have sufficient operational and capital resources to work with large companies, and have presence or concrete plans to expand in Hong Kong as well as other cities where MTR Corporation operates. Co+Lab Initiative will work hand-in-hand with selected partners by offering them support, funding, knowledge and access to MTR Corporation’s expansive network.

Launch of website alongside artist collaboration that visualises MTR Lab’s ‘city of the future’
Companies can now submit their pitch for investment with Co+Lab Initiative via MTR Lab’s new website: https://www.mtrlab.com.hk/. To help companies visualise the future city MTR Lab aims to create, the website features an illustration made in collaboration with a local artist that captures the closely connected and carbon-neutral smart community MTR Lab hopes to achieve by working together with its partners.
